Danza Mexika is a dynamic, physical prayer and a profound expression of our ancestral heritage. It represents the movement of the cosmos, the cycles of nature, and our connection to the elements, preserving the wisdom of pre-Hispanic traditions through rhythm and ceremony.

No previous experience is required. We welcome all who approach the circle with respect, an open heart, and a genuine desire to learn. Our elders and experienced dancers will guide you through the fundamental steps, rhythms, and protocols of the tradition.

Please wear comfortable, modest clothing that allows for full movement, such as athletic wear or traditional practice garments. Bring water, a small towel, and an open mind. We typically dance barefoot or in soft-soled practice shoes to maintain our connection to the earth.

The Tlecoatl lineage strictly adheres to the teachings passed down by our elders. We maintain the original rhythms, ceremonial protocols, and philosophical understandings, ensuring that the 'Fire Serpent' tradition remains uncompromised, authentic, and deeply rooted in its origins.

While our regular practices are often open to new learners, certain deep ceremonial works are private and reserved for dedicated members of the Calpulli (community). Public ceremonies, presentations, and open gatherings will always be announced clearly in advance.
